Perm Wrap Technical

PREP:
Shampoo hair with clarifying shampoo and towel dry.
SUPPLIES:
Zotos Professional perm kit. See our Perm Reference Chart to find the ideal perm for your client.
Use a tail comb, hair net, end papers, 6-10 purple benders, 3-4 pink benders and 1-2 grey benders.
PARTINGS:
All partings should be zig zagged to ensure better blending and eliminate perm parting lines.
STEP 1
Starting at the front hairline, make a triangle shaped section. Comb the section forward and wrap it forward on a large size pink bender.
STEP 2
Place the next two pink benders directly behind first bender and wrap toward the back of the head.
STEP 3
On the side, divide into three vertical sections. Using purple benders, wrap hairline forward on first bender and backward on the second bender, remembering to use the zig zag partings. The third bender will be wrapped forward.
Repeat this on the opposite side of the head.
STEP 4
Partings on the back of the head, directly under the wrapped crown bender, should continue in the same horizontal pattern using purple benders. If the hair density is thick, create more partings.
STEP 5
Wrap the nape section down on a small (gray) bender. If the hair density is thick, create more partings.
STEP 6
Place the hair net over entire head, this will help hold the benders/tools in place during rinsing.
HELPFUL HINTS:
- Make sure the hair is damp before adding waving lotion. Too much water in the hair will dilute the permanent wave solution.
- Use a paper towel to blot each bender before applying waving lotion.
- When choosing your bender size, remember tighter wave patterns can be achieved using smaller benders.
